Rae Bareli, 08 Sept (HS): Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and MP from Rae Bareli, Rahul
Gandhi reached Rae Bareli on Tuesday evening on a two-day visit. He was given a
warm welcome at Lahi border in Maharajganj. On the way, Samajwadi Party workers
also welcomed Rahul Gandhi with garlands, however, due to delay in the
scheduled programme, Rahul Gandhi's convoy did not stop at many places and
after being welcomed at Lahi border, it proceeded further.
It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi's two-day visit begins today,
in which he will go among the general public and listen to their problems on
the first day of his visit, while on September 9, he will chair an important
meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee
(Disha) organized at the Collectorate.
It is being reported that MP Rahul Gandhi will head directly to
rural areas this time and may visit the waterlogged Shivgarh and Maharajganj
areas to meet with people. The Congress district organization is preparing a
special route plan for Rahul Gandhi's public relations, so that he can interact
with as many local people as possible. There is considerable enthusiasm among
party workers regarding the MP's two-day visit, and all preparations are being
completed rapidly.
The district administration is also busy preparing for Rahul
Gandhi's visit and the Disha meeting. Project Director (PD) Munish
Chandra said that progress reports on plans and compliance reports on
instructions given in previous meetings have been requested from all concerned
departments for the September 9th meeting.
