
New Delhi, 08 September (H.S.): In view of the expected surge in passenger traffic during Diwali and other upcoming festivals, Northern Railway has announced the operation of 500 special trains to facilitate passengers. The special services will be operated according to a scheduled timetable to meet the additional demand during the festive season and provide passengers with a smoother and more convenient journey.
According to Northern Railway, the festival special trains will cover several important routes, including Varanasi–Delhi, Ayodhya Cantt–Anand Vihar Terminal, Chandigarh–Patna, Firozpur Cantt–Patna, New Delhi–Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar Terminal–Patliputra, among others. Train Nos. 04209/04210 Varanasi–Delhi–Varanasi Special will make 50 trips, 04213/04214 Ayodhya Cantt–Anand Vihar Terminal Special will make 36 trips, while 02456/02455 New Delhi–Kanpur Central Special will make 98 trips. Meanwhile, Train Nos. 04014/04013 Anand Vihar Terminal–Lauka Bazar Special will operate 150 trips.
In addition, Train Nos. 04227/04228 Varanasi–Chandigarh Special will make 36 trips, 04008/04007 Anand Vihar Terminal–Jogbani Special will make 10 trips, 04028/04027 Anand Vihar Terminal–Muzaffarpur Special will make 10 trips, and 04010/04009 Sitamarhi–Delhi Special will make 12 trips.
The railway has scheduled 72 trips of Train Nos. 02458/02457 Anand Vihar Terminal–Kanpur Central Special, 18 trips of 04314/04313 Yog Nagari Rishikesh–Muzaffarpur Special, and 120 trips of 04096/04095 Anand Vihar Terminal–Patliputra Special. Northern Railway said that festival special trains will also be operated on several other routes, including Vijay Mandir–Anand Vihar and Firozpur Cantt–Patna, among others.
