Mohsin Raza named chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission


Lucknow, 08 Sept (HS): Mohsin Raza, a former minister and member of

the Legislative Council from the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been named

chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission. Eight members have also been

nominated. The Uttar Pradesh government issued a letter in this regard on

Tuesday. According to a letter issued by the government, Sandeep Jain of Etah,

Anshuman Singh Massey of Shahjahanpur, Sardar Hanpreet Singh Bedi of

Muzaffarnagar, Mohammad Aslam of Fatehpur, Sardar Parvinder Singh of Lucknow,

Neha Khan of Ambedkarnagar, Syed Seraj Abbas Rizvi and Rumana Siddiqui of

Lucknow have been nominated as members. The tenure of Mohsin Raza, Chairman of

the Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission, and other members will be three years.

Previously, he served as Minister of State for Minority Welfare,

Muslim Waqf, and Hajj in the Yogi Adityanath government. Mohsin Raza has been

associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party for a long time. He is also a sharp

speaker. Therefore, after joining the BJP, the party appointed him as its

spokesperson. In 2017, after the formation of the Yogi Adityanath-led

government in the state, Mohsin Raza was appointed a minister. He has also been

a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.

Mohsin Raza was a cricketer before entering politics. He played

cricket for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. He also has an interest in

modeling and acting. In 1995, he was chosen as the Prince of

Lucknow. He has now been appointed Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Minority

Commission.

BJP leaders congratulated on the appointment of Mohsin Raza as

the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission, many party leaders including

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh

Pathak, Minister of State Danish Azad Ansari, MLC Subhash Yaduvansh have

congratulated him and wished him a bright tenure.

Mohsin Raza has expressed his gratitude to the top leadership of

the party and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State President

Pankaj Chaudhary and State General Secretary Organization Dharampal Singh for

entrusting him with the responsibility of the Minority Commission.
