Navsari, September 8 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that every Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker remains wholeheartedly engaged, day and night, in serving the people. He said that for the BJP, power, the organisation, positions and prestige have only one purpose — service.

Addressing a public meeting in Navsari, PM Modi said the sole objective of the dedicated efforts of party workers is the welfare of the country’s 1.4 billion citizens. The Prime Minister said meeting party workers is always a source of enthusiasm and joy for him. He said visiting Navsari brings him particular happiness and that interacting with party workers gives him renewed energy.

Recalling the early years of his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, PM Modi said he had travelled from village to village in the scorching summer heat to create awareness about the importance of educating daughters. At that time, many villages did not even have round-the-clock electricity. Despite temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius, he visited villages and encouraged parents to send their daughters to school.

He said this grassroots work was neither reported in newspapers nor shown on television, but he continued to visit villages every year with complete dedication. Modi said, “Service never goes in vain. Society is so generous that it repays the debt of service in the form of blessings.”

The Prime Minister said camps have been organised in Navsari for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Society is also participating in providing nutrition kits to malnourished children and pregnant women, while nutritional support is also being extended to tuberculosis (TB) patients.

He said the benefits of government schemes are reaching beneficiaries directly, with no role for middlemen. PM Modi also referred to the large number of Sukanya Samriddhi accounts opened in Navsari and the easy loans being provided to street vendors under the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi scheme.

PM Modi said street vendors and hawkers were earlier often forced to borrow small amounts from moneylenders at interest and remained trapped under the burden of debt. The government has arranged for them to receive loans through banks without guarantees or collateral, along with facilities for digital payments. He said many beneficiaries who repaid their loans on time subsequently received larger loans of Rs 30,000 and later up to Rs 50,000.

The Prime Minister also praised the ‘Swachhata Se Swagat’ campaign underway in Navsari. He said that thanks to improved cleanliness, the celebrations of Navratri and Diwali would appear even more grand this year.PM Modi urged BJP workers to treat the entire Navsari district as their own family and work accordingly.
