Lucknow, 08 Sept (HS): Extensive participation of the

state's higher education institutions will be ensured in the Seva Sankalp

Abhiyan, which is being run with the aim of spreading the spirit of service,

public participation and nation-building to the masses. In this regard, Higher

Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, while chairing a meeting at the Assembly

office in Lucknow on Tuesday, directed state and private universities and

colleges to actively participate in the various programs of the campaign.

The meeting was attended physically by the Principal

Secretary, Special Secretary, Director of Higher Education, and other

departmental officials, while Vice Chancellors, Registrars, and departmental

officials from state and private universities participated virtually. The

Higher Education Minister stated that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan (Service Sankalp

Abhiyan) will be conducted from September 17th to October 17th through various

programs to disseminate the public welfare achievements of Prime Minister

Narendra Modi's 25 years of service to the public and to connect every citizen

with the collective national resolve for a developed India in 2047. Its

objective is not merely to organize programs, but to strengthen the spirit of

service to society and the nation, and to communicate the positive changes and

achievements in the state to students and the general public. He stated that

every university and college must ensure effective implementation of the

campaign's programs. The participation of private universities will also be

crucial.

He stated that various programs, including Seva

Smriti, Angan Milan, Kahani Badlaav, My Contribution

to Service, Seva Setu Abhiyan, and Seva Yatra

(Service Tour), will be organized under the campaign. Universities and colleges

were instructed to play an active role in these programs, tailored to their

local circumstances and institutional resources.

Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya stated that under the

Kahani Badlaav program, positive changes in universities and

colleges during the tenure of the central and state governments should be

highlighted. The experiences of students who have benefited from new

departments, faculty, buildings, laboratories, educational facilities, new

systems, and student-friendly initiatives should be recorded.

He also urged students to discuss their previous situation

in their institutions and how the new facilities have changed their academic

and educational lives. These experiences should be documented in the form of

videos, written stories, and interviews, and disseminated on social media and

made available to the department. He encouraged students to write interesting

and inspiring stories about the changes in their institutions, so that this can

further develop their writing and creative abilities.

Under the My Contribution to Service program,

university and college students will be involved in volunteer activities,

cleanliness, beautification, and tree planting. The Higher Education Minister

stated that institutions can launch cleanliness drives by identifying parks,

public spaces, or surrounding areas on their campuses. He emphasized extensive

tree planting on large campuses, as well as Miyawaki-based planting at

appropriate locations. Instructions were given to capture photos and videos of

these activities and disseminate them through social media.

The Higher Education Minister stated that special attention should

be paid to the prompt resolution of students' problems through the Seva

Setu Abhiyan. Grievances related to mark sheets, degrees, or other

educational documents should be resolved promptly by ensuring the presence of

relevant officials at designated locations. He clarified that such programs

should not be limited to mere formalities. It is the responsibility of

officials to ensure that students receive real relief and that the government's

sensitive message reaches society.

Under the Seva Smriti program, street plays and

cultural presentations will be encouraged in universities and colleges. For

this, the talent of local artists, fine arts institutions, and students can be

utilized. University campuses, colleges, and surrounding areas should be identified

as suitable venues for this. In the Seva Rang program, instructions

were given to showcase the achievements of the country and the state, and the

important work done in the field of education, through rangoli and creative

art. He said that attractive and effective presentations can be prepared at the

local level by forming teams of students.
