
Guwahati, 08 September (HS): The birth centenary of Bharat Ratna and legendary singer Dr. Bhupen Hazarika is being observed across Assam on Tuesday with various programmes paying tribute to the cultural icon.
At Samannay Tirth in Jalukbari, the venue has been beautifully decorated to mark the special occasion. Tribute is being paid to Dr. Hazarika through musical and cultural programmes, with people remembering his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is also present at Samannay Tirth in Jalukbari as part of the birth centenary observance.
Meanwhile, the Assam Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s State Cultural Cell has organised a tribute programme at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Basistha Chariali today. The programme is being held to commemorate Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s birth centenary.
The centenary celebrations are being marked across the state through music and cultural programmes, remembering the legendary artiste whose work continues to inspire generations.-----------
