08 Sept (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constantly paid
heartfelt homage to great musician and Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his
birth and death anniversaries, recognizing his significant cultural impact and
timeless voice that conveyed Assam's spirit.
Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, has publicly recognized Dr.
Bhupen Hazarika on several occasions, hailing Assam as a culturally rich region
and recognizing the maestro's uniting role in Indian art and music. Dr. Bhupen
Hazarika, the famed Assamese singer, poet, and filmmaker, was posthumously
granted India's highest civilian accolade, the Bharat Ratna, for his lifelong
commitment to uniting communities through music.
In a post on X, UP CM remarked, “On the birth anniversary of
Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the legendary singer, songwriter, composer, and recipient
of the Bharat Ratna, renowned as 'Sudhakontho'—an indelible signature of
India's cultural consciousness—we offer humble tribute. Through his melodious
voice and extraordinary music, he brought the rich culture of the Northeast,
the aspirations of the common people, and the nation's diversity into direct
communion with every heart. His timeless songs, which weave the entire country
into a single thread, will continue to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and
human values in society.”
