New Delhi, September 08 (H.S.): After being appointed as the Congress in-charge of Punjab, party general secretary Sachin Pilot on Tuesday met Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. During the meetings, discussions were held on organisational issues concerning the Punjab Congress, upcoming political programmes, and preparations for the Assembly elections.

According to party sources, during the meeting at Sonia Gandhi’s residence, Pilot held discussions with Rahul Gandhi on the organisational status of the Punjab Congress, coordination among party leaders, and preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The proposed visit of Rahul Gandhi to Punjab was also discussed.

It may be recalled that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge recently carried out an organisational reshuffle and appointed Sachin Pilot as the party’s in-charge of Punjab. He has succeeded Bhupesh Baghel in the position.

Pilot will now be responsible for strengthening the party organisation in Punjab and improving coordination among its various factions. In view of the Assembly elections, the party leadership is focusing on accelerating organisational activities across the state.
