
Hyderabad, 08 September (H.S.) — Tension prevailed at Damarakunta in Siddipet district on Tuesday after BRS and Congress activists clashed near the farmhouse of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) at Erravalli.
The incident occurred when BRS activists allegedly hurled stones at Congress workers who were attempting to gherao KCR’s farmhouse in protest against remarks made against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad.
The confrontation soon escalated into a scuffle, with members of both groups allegedly throwing stones at each other. Police personnel intervened and dispersed the protesters to prevent the situation from worsening.
A tense atmosphere prevailed in the area as supporters of both the BRS and Congress gathered for protests. A large number of police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.
The situation followed a call by the Congress to lay siege to KCR’s farmhouse. In view of the proposed protest, security was tightened around the farmhouse, while roads leading to the premises were closed.
Police personnel prevented people from entering the vicinity of the farmhouse as precautionary measures were taken to maintain peace in the area.
