Hooghly, 07 September (H.S.): BJP workers visited the Uttarpara Municipality on Monday and expressed their dissatisfaction over civic services and the alleged behaviour and functioning of some municipal employees. The visit was not a protest demonstration, but an effort by the party workers to raise concerns over problems being faced by residents.

The BJP workers alleged that citizens were facing difficulties in accessing various municipal services. According to them, residents have been encountering delays and inconvenience in matters related to drainage, roads and obtaining various certificates, forcing them to make repeated visits to the municipality.

BJP Youth Wing workers visited the municipal office on Monday and expressed their displeasure over the situation. They alleged that residents were not receiving the expected level of service and cooperation from the municipality.

BJP leader Pankaj Roy said that the benefits of public welfare initiatives undertaken by the state government were expected to reach citizens through the municipality, but people were allegedly not receiving those benefits properly.

He said that although the elected municipal board had been dissolved and an administrator appointed, the functioning of the municipality had not changed as expected. He added that BJP workers had visited the municipality to speak with the administrator and raise the concerns of local residents.
