New Delhi, September 07 (H.S.): Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's leading carmaker, has announced a price hike for selected models. The company said on Monday that prices of certain cars had been increased by up to Rs 20,000 with effect from September 2026. This is the third increase in vehicle prices by the company since May this year.

In a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges on Monday, Maruti Suzuki India said, “In view of the continued increase in the cost of raw materials, the company has decided to increase the prices of selected models by up to Rs 20,000. The price increase will be effective from September 2026.”

The company said it had been consistently taking measures to mitigate the impact of rising costs through various cost-reduction initiatives over the past few months. According to Maruti Suzuki India, “Inflationary pressures continue to remain elevated, while the cost environment also remains adverse. In such circumstances, the company is compelled to pass on a portion of the increased costs to the market.”

It is noteworthy that Maruti Suzuki had increased the prices of all its vehicles by an average of around 0.5 per cent in August. Under that price revision, Maruti cars became costlier by Rs 2,500 to Rs 30,000, depending on the model and variant.

The latest increase marks the third price hike by the company since May.
