Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 07 Sept (HS): The Maharashtra Government on

Monday took four on the background of Manoj Jarange’s hunger strike and growing

discontent among Maratha Community. The GR pertaining to the decisions have

also been issued.

The Department of Technical Education has been directed to provide

educational and scholarships like OBC students from the academic year

2026.2027. The Higher and Technical Department has been given Rs 200 crore for

hostel facilities for EWS, SEBC students. The funds will be available as per

demand raised during the Monsoon Session of the State Legislature

Through amendments in SARATHI rules for higher education abroad, the

scholarship will be transferred directly to the institution where the students

has been admitted. The higher limit on scholarship has been removed and the

students in the USA will get 1,500 USD and in UK 1.100 Britain Pound annually

for lodging and boarding. QS ranking base has been enforced from the current

academic year.

Similarly, 1.440 youngsters will be imparted training in driver and

conductors. IDTRS from Pimpri-Chinchwad has signed agreement to impart the

training. The training will begin from 1st October, 2026.
