Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has accused the government of failing to fix accountability over the incident in Delhi’s Satya Niketan. He said that after failing to prevent such incidents, the government merely issues statements while those actually responsible escape accountability.

In a post on social media platform X on Monday, Rahul Gandhi said that the collapse of a building filled with students in Satya Niketan was not an isolated tragedy. He pointed out that similar incidents in Saidulajab and Hauz Rani over the past four months had also claimed several lives, yet no visible action appeared to have been taken.

He alleged that those demanding accountability were being silenced by labelling them with derogatory adjectives. He said that attempts were being made to shame and defame those who raised questions.

Rahul Gandhi said that over the past 12 years, the government had made major claims but failed to focus on fundamental issues. Despite Delhi having a “triple-engine government,” he said, there was still no effective accountability visible in response to such incidents.
