Guwahati, 07 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that South Salmara-Mankachar Police seized 51 cattle and a boat and detained one person during a patrol operation.

Sharing the information on social media, the Chief Minister said the cattle were allegedly being transported through a secret route in an attempt to cross the border. He praised the Assam Police for continuing operations against cattle smuggling through both land and waterways.

The seizure comes after similar action in Dhubri, with the Assam Police maintaining intensified surveillance to curb illegal cattle transportation.-------------
