NEW DELHI, September 06 (H.S.): A video being circulated on social media platform X in the name of Jitendra Mishra, the newly appointed full-time CEO of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has been found to be fake. The video shows a man dancing enthusiastically with a bottle or glass of liquor placed on his head. It was claimed that Jitendra Mishra was drinking and partying after being appointed CEO of the Ram temple trust. However, an investigation found that the person seen in the viral video is not Jitendra Mishra and that the footage had been posted on social media in November 2025, around 10 months before his appointment.

After the fact-check emerged, several social media users objected to the misidentification of the person in the video as the CEO of the Ram temple trust. Some users also urged the Ayodhya Police and Uttar Pradesh Police to take action. One post explicitly stated that the man dancing in the video was not the Ram temple CEO and called for action against those spreading the false claim.

The video was shared on X by an account named Rashmi. The post stated, “Earlier, those who counted donations used to steal; now the CEO is partying. They have turned the temple into a corporate entity, brother, and even installed a dance floor.” The post claimed that Jitendra Mishra could be seen drinking and dancing in the video. According to available social media records, the post was viewed and shared by a considerable number of users.

The video was subsequently shared by Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) social media campaign, from his X account. While quoting the video, Dipke said there was nothing wrong with what a person did in his personal life, but questioned how the so-called “custodians of religion” would have reacted if the person seen in the video had not been the CEO of the Ram temple trust.

However, an independent fact-check of the video revealed its actual origin. A search using reverse images and keyframes from the video traced it to an older source. According to the available verification, the video was shared on Instagram by an account belonging to Vikas Rana (@vkerana789) on November 3, 2025. At the time, the person appearing in the video was identified in the post as “Captain Sahab.” This establishes that the video had already been available online nearly 10 months before Jitendra Mishra was appointed CEO of the Ram temple trust.

A comparison of the viral video with photographs of Jitendra Mishra also shows clear differences between the two individuals. Mishra is bald, and the structure of his face and his moustache are different, whereas the man seen in the viral video has hair and a distinctly different facial structure. These differences establish that the claim identifying the person in the video as Ram temple trust CEO Jitendra Mishra is false.

The appointment of Jitendra Mishra as the first full-time CEO of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was announced on September 2, 2026. Within days of the announcement, the old video was falsely linked to his appointment and circulated on social media. The misleading claim alleged that Mishra was celebrating his appointment by drinking alcohol and dancing.
