Patna, 06 September (H.S.) — Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday congratulated two female athletes from the state who have been selected to represent India at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship 2026 in South Korea from September 16 to 20.

Choudhary said athletes Bhavani Singh and Riya Singh, both from Gopalganj, had brought pride to Bihar and the country by earning selection for the international championship.

“Two talented players from Gopalganj, Bhavani Singh and Riya Singh, have been selected to represent India at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship 2026. This is a matter of pride for Bihar and the country,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X.

He said both athletes were facing financial difficulties in participating in the championship and had sought assistance.

The Chief Minister’s message came as the two athletes prepare to compete at the international event in South Korea. Their selection to the Indian team has drawn appreciation in the state, particularly in their home district of Gopalganj.

Choudhary congratulated the athletes and wished them success in the championship.
