New Delhi, September 06 (H.S.): Newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr Dinesh Sharma, on Sunday expressed his gratitude to the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for reposing faith in him and entrusting him with the responsibility.

Sharma, a former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a Rajya Sabha member, also thanked President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the opportunity.

In a post on X, Sharma expressed his gratitude to the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister and the BJP’s central leadership, saying that he had resolved to discharge his responsibilities with complete sincerity, integrity and dedication.

He also thanked senior leaders, well-wishers, friends and citizens across the country for their continued support, good wishes and blessings.

“This important responsibility is not merely a position for me, but a major responsibility towards the Constitution, the nation and public service,” Sharma wrote.

He further said, “I resolve to discharge this responsibility with complete sincerity, honesty and dedication. May your affection, trust and blessings continue to remain with me in the same manner.”

Sharma expressed his appreciation for the confidence placed in him and said the support and blessings he had received from people would continue to inspire him as he takes on his new constitutional responsibility.
