New Delhi, September 05 (H.S.): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday called upon teachers to help build an education system that provides equal opportunities and quality education to every student.
Gandhi extended his greetings to teachers on National Teachers’ Day through a social media post, highlighting their important role in educating students and shaping future generations.
“Through your knowledge, service and dedication, you shape the future of students and provide direction to the nation’s coming generations. Your contribution is invaluable,” Gandhi said in his message.
He urged teachers to work towards an education system where every child can access quality learning and equal opportunities, regardless of their social or economic background.
Teachers’ Day is observed in India every year on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s first Vice President and second President, who was also a renowned philosopher and educationist. The occasion is dedicated to recognising the contribution of teachers to education, society and nation-building.
