New Delhi, September 05 (H.S.): Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday, disrupting normal life and causing severe waterlogging in several areas, including roads leading to Indira Gandhi International Airport. Amid the adverse weather, IndiGo issued a travel advisory, warning passengers that flight operations could be affected and delays were possible.

The airline urged passengers travelling on Saturday to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. It also advised travellers to allow additional time for their journey as waterlogged roads and slow traffic could cause delays.

The advisory came as heavy showers affected multiple parts of the national capital. Waterlogging was reported around IGI Airport, Anand Vihar, Connaught Place, Shakarpur, Laxmi Nagar and Sangam Vihar, affecting vehicular movement and causing difficulties for commuters.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast further rainfall over Delhi-NCR. The weather agency indicated that Delhi and adjoining areas could receive additional showers on Saturday and Sunday, with conditions expected to improve from Monday.

The latest spell of rain followed intense showers on Friday, September 4, when several parts of Delhi witnessed significant waterlogging. The continuing rainfall has affected traffic movement across the city and raised concerns for commuters travelling to and from the airport.

With more rain expected on Sunday, passengers using Delhi airport have been advised to keep track of their flight schedules and leave home well in advance to account for possible traffic disruptions.

The weather conditions are also expected to remain a challenge for road commuters until the rainfall activity eases over the national capital region.
