
Pune,
05 Sept (HS): Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the 38th
Pune Festival on September 18 at 4.30 pm. The festival is dedicated to art,
culture, music, dance, literature and sports.
President
of the Festival Committee Krishnakumar Goyal informed at a press conference in
Pune, the Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, DCM
Sunetra Pawar, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Minister
Chandrakant Patil, former Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, and MP Hema
Malini will attend the festival.
The
logo of the Festival was unveiled on the occasion. The festival is dedicated to
founder of Pune Festival late Suresh Kalmadi. The committee also informed that
Suresh Kalmadi Jeevan Gaurav award has been launched from this year. The first
award will be conferred upon senior actor Mohan Joshi. Similarly Pune Festival
awards will be given to senior actor and producer Kiran Shantaram, Drama
Director Atul Pethe, former President of Indian Women’s Hockey Association
Arnawaj Damania and Flying Officer Nishi Agrawal.
Ranmard
Shivaji Mandal of Shukrawarpeth and Hanuman Mandal Pratishthan will be given
Jai Ganesh Award for celebrating 100th year of Ganesh Festival.
