New Delhi, 05 September (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday paid tribute to former President, eminent philosopher and teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary and extended Teachers’ Day greetings to the people of the country.

On the occasion, Kejriwal also expressed his gratitude to teachers and said that he held the teaching community in the highest regard.

In a post on the social media platform X, Kejriwal paid his respects to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary and conveyed his Teachers’ Day wishes to the people. He said teachers deserved the highest respect for their contribution to society.

Kejriwal said he had immense respect for teachers and credited them with making the greatest contribution to the transformation of government schools in Delhi and Punjab.

He said that while governments could create better infrastructure and facilities for students, teachers played the crucial role of laying a strong foundation for their education and future.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888, in a small town in the erstwhile Madras Presidency, now in Tamil Nadu. He was a distinguished scholar, philosopher and statesman who served as the second President of India from May 13, 1962, to May 13, 1967.

India observes Teachers’ Day every year on September 5 to commemorate his birth anniversary and honour the contribution of teachers to education and society.
