Guwahati, 05 September (HS): The Guwahati Metropolitan Police has launched a major anti-drug operation in Jalukbari, Maligaon and adjoining areas of Guwahati, with the aim of making the region drug-free.

The operation covers areas including Jalukbari, Pandu and Maligaon. During the campaign, the city police also issued a stern warning against drug-related activities across the wider area.

The police said an Anti-Narcotics Task Force has been constituted to intensify the fight against drugs. The task force is expected to carry out anti-drug operations across Assam as part of the broader drive to curb the illegal drug trade.------------
