New Delhi, September 05 (H.S.): The Congress has appointed retired Colonel Mohammad Shahid Khan as the president of the Ex-Servicemen Department of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee. The appointment has come into effect immediately.

Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal issued an order on Saturday stating that party president Mallikarjun Kharge had approved the proposal to appoint retired Colonel Mohammad Shahid Khan as the president of the Ex-Servicemen Department of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.

The appointment will take effect immediately.

The Ex-Servicemen Department of the party works to represent and address issues concerning former members of the armed forces and strengthen the party’s engagement with the ex-servicemen community.
