
New Delhi, 04 September (H.S.): Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Friday attended the last rites of Justice Harish Chandra Mishra at Lodhi Crematorium and paid his respects to the departed judge.
He said the demise of Justice Harish Chandra Mishra was an irreparable loss to Delhi’s public life and judicial system. His distinguished judicial career was marked by integrity, impartiality and an unwavering commitment to justice. His contribution as Delhi’s Lokayukta would always be remembered with deep respect.
Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta paid tribute to the departed soul and met the bereaved family members to express his heartfelt condolences and solidarity with them in this hour of grief. He recalled Justice Mishra’s distinguished judicial service and his steadfast commitment to upholding the principles of justice, integrity and public accountability.
Vijender Gupta prayed to the Almighty to grant the departed soul a place at His divine feet and give the bereaved family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
It may be noted that Justice Harish Chandra Mishra, born on March 27, 1959, was a retired judge of the Jharkhand High Court and had also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court. He was appointed Delhi’s Lokayukta in March 2022 and rendered distinguished service to the institution.
