Ratnagiri, 04 Sept (HS): A landslide on

Ratnagiri-Satara road on Raghuvir Ghat again blocked the traffic on the road.

The Ghat falls under under Khed Tehsil. The landslide occurred on Thursday

night. About 20 villages near the Raghuvir Ghat were affected.

Raghuvir Ghat is an important road connecting Satara

with Ratnagiri. Many people visit Khed for education, marketing and other

purposes using motorcycles, rickshaw and other vehicles. The transport on both

the sides of the road was closed..

The administration was busy in removing the debris

to open the traffic. The time by which the traffic will be opened, however, was

not specified.

Frequent landslides on Raghuvir Ghat during monsoon

has raised several questions. Villages in the area have demanded working out

permanent solution to the problem.
