New Delhi, 04 September (H.S.): The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced the schedule for the final preparation camps for Indian shooters ahead of the upcoming Asian Games. The camps are aimed at fine-tuning the athletes’ techniques, strengthening their mental preparedness and ensuring that they are fully equipped for the competition. Shooting events at the Asian Games will be held from September 17 to October 3 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Range in Japan.

The preparation camps will be conducted at the country’s two premier shooting centres—the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in Bhopal and the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. Shooters will train at the respective centres according to their disciplines. The camp for rifle and pistol athletes will be held in Bhopal from September 5 to 14. The camp for the shotgun skeet discipline will take place in New Delhi from September 4 to 14, while the trap discipline camp will be held from September 10 to 18.

NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo said in an official statement, “The 2026 Asian Games present a major opportunity for our shooters to showcase their exceptional talent at the continental level. These preparation camps are an important step in our journey towards winning medals. We have complete faith in our athletes, and our commitment to providing them with world-class resources remains firm so that they can bring glory to the country.”

NRAI Secretary General Pawan Kumar Singh said, “Organising these camps simultaneously in Bhopal and New Delhi ensures that our athletes can train in an environment suited to their respective disciplines. The administrative team has been working continuously to coordinate arrangements, infrastructure and support staff so that the athletes can remain fully focused on their final preparations.”

NRAI High Performance Director Dr. Pierre Beauchamp said, “At this crucial stage, our focus is more on precision, mental resilience and technical refinement than on training volume. The structure of these final camps will enable the sports science and coaching teams to closely monitor each athlete’s performance data and ensure that they are at their best when they step onto the shooting range at the Asian Games.”
