Bhubaneswar, 04 September (H.S.): The Odisha Government has directed schools across the state to honour retired teachers for their dedicated service and contribution to the education sector on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on September 5.

In an official communication to all District Education Officers-cum-District Project Coordinators, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, N. Tirumala Nayak, directed schools to organise Teachers’ Day programmes at the school level and felicitate retired teachers from nearby localities.

According to the directive, headmasters and headmistresses of all schools have been asked to invite retired male and female teachers from their respective areas and organise felicitation programmes on September 5.

Schools have also been instructed to prepare a schedule of activities to ensure the successful implementation of the programme.

The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has sought details of the programmes conducted in schools across all districts, along with photographs and published newspaper reports, at the earliest.
