Dhubri, 04 September (H.S.): Bilasipara Police carried out a major operation against drug-related activities in the Krishnanagar area of Bilasipara town. During the operation, police recovered a large quantity of intoxicating and banned cough syrup that was allegedly being transported concealed in a Magic vehicle bearing registration number AS-01-MC-1773, which was loaded with Tuhguri.

Two alleged drug traffickers have been detained in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Sheikh Faris and Ziarul Haque. According to police, the two were travelling towards Bilasipara town from the char area while carrying the banned cough syrup. Police intercepted the vehicle during the operation and seized both the vehicle and the cough syrup.

Police said the two accused were reportedly involved in the illegal drug trade for a long time. The recovered cough syrup, the Magic vehicle and the two accused were brought to the police station, where an investigation into the case has been initiated. Police are now trying to determine the source from which the banned cough syrup was supplied and identify the people to whom it was allegedly intended to be delivered.
