New Delhi/Washington, 04 September (H.S.): US software company Adobe has appointed Anil Chakravarthy as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will succeed Shantanu Narayen and assume the new role on December 1.

According to a statement issued by the company, Adobe has appointed Anil Chakravarthy as its new President and CEO. Chakravarthy will take charge on December 1, succeeding Shantanu Narayen, who has led the company for more than 18 years.

Meanwhile, Shantanu Narayen will take on the role of Executive Chairman of the company. A former student of Banaras Hindu University, Chakravarthy currently serves as President of Adobe’s Customer Experience Management business and Global Sales Operations.

Narayen said, “I am fully confident that Anil Chakravarthy is the right person to lead Adobe’s growth in the AI-powered era. I look forward to working with him in my new role as Executive Chairman.”

Chakravarthy joined Adobe in January 2020. At the time, he was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager to lead the company’s Digital Experience business. In September 2020, he took on additional responsibility for Adobe’s Global Sales Operations. Before joining Adobe, Chakravarthy served as CEO of global enterprise cloud data management company Informatica for four years.

Notably, Chakravarthy holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, as well as a Master of Science degree and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
