New Delhi, 30 September (H.S.):

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday,in a telephone conversation covering trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and key regional and international developments.

Describing the discussion as “productive”, PM Modi said the two leaders reviewed cooperation across several areas and agreed to maintain close engagement to further advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

“Had a productive conversation with President Trump. We reviewed our bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas. We agreed to maintain close engagement to take our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership forward,” PM Modi said in a post on X on Wednesday.

“We also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including ongoing efforts to advance global peace and security,” he added.

The conversation comes at a time when India and the United States continue to focus on strengthening economic and strategic ties. Trade remains a significant part of the relationship, alongside defence cooperation, energy security and collaboration in emerging and critical technologies.
