Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta visited the Parliament of the Republic of Peru during his study tour of the country, including its Senate and Chamber of Deputies. The visit focused on parliamentary procedures, legislative functioning and the working of democratic institutions. The engagement formed part of a broader exchange of institutional experiences between the two legislatures, according to a statement.

During the visit, Vijender Gupta held discussions with Senator Víctor Seferino Flores Ruiz of the Republic of Peru. The two exchanged views on legislative procedures, parliamentary functioning and the role of legislatures in strengthening democratic governance. They also underscored the importance of sustained institutional dialogue and the exchange of parliamentary best practices.

The Delhi Assembly Speaker presented Senator Flores Ruiz with a copy of ‘Power Within’, a book based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his visits abroad. The interaction highlighted the growing significance of parliamentary and institutional exchanges in strengthening mutual understanding and engagement between India and Peru.
