Aichi-Nagoya, 30 September (H.S.): The Indian men’s squash team continued its impressive run at the Asian Games 2026, defeating Kuwait 2-0 in the quarter-finals on Wednesday to book a place in the semi-finals and secure another medal for the country. Defending champions India will now face Malaysia in the last four.

In the quarter-final against Kuwait, Veer Chotrani got India off to a winning start, defeating Bader Al-Moghrebi 3-1. Chotrani prevailed 12-10, 8-11, 11-0, 11-5.

Abhay Singh then sealed India’s place in the semi-finals with a commanding 3-0 victory over Ammar Al-Tamimi. Singh won 11-3, 11-4, 11-8.

Earlier, the Indian women’s squash team had also secured a medal at the Asian Games. India defeated Singapore 2-0 in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. Tanvi Khanna opened the tie with a 3-1 victory over Wai Lin Au Yeong, winning 11-6, 5-11, 15-13, 11-1.

Anahat Singh then completed India’s victory with a 3-0 win over Wai Yan Au Yeong, prevailing 11-7, 11-3, 11-4. India’s semi-final opponent in the women’s team event has yet to be determined.

India has already enjoyed an impressive campaign in squash at the Asian Games 2026. Anahat Singh won the silver medal in the women’s singles, losing 0-3 to Malaysia’s Sivasangari Subramaniam in the final.

Abhay Singh also claimed silver in the men’s singles, losing to Malaysia’s Ng Eain Yow 9-11, 5-11, 5-11 in the final. The Indian men’s and women’s teams will now have an opportunity to upgrade their medal tally in the team events.
