Guwahati, 30 September (HS): Union Minister and former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday campaigned for BJP candidate Devashish Sharma in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, addressing public meetings at the Daul Mandir premises in Dalonghat, Morigaon, and Dhing Gate in the Batadroba Assembly constituency of Nagaon.

Addressing the gatherings, Sonowal said women’s empowerment was a major force behind development and appealed to voters in Nagaon and Morigaon to support the BJP candidate. He attributed the development of different sections of society across Assam to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the state.

BJP Assam president Dilip Saikia, who accompanied Sonowal at both meetings, appealed to voters to support the party’s lotus symbol and join what he described as the country’s development journey under Modi’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” policy.

Assam Cabinet Minister Rameshwar Teli also addressed the meetings and sought support for Devashish Sharma.

Meanwhile, Assam Cabinet Minister Biswajit Daimary campaigned for Sharma at two meetings held at Dongabari and Baghjap in the Jagiroad Assembly constituency. Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member and MLA Tuliram Ronghang addressed four campaign meetings at Kuranibari, Hatiutha, Buragaon and Pabhakati in the same constituency.

The BJP also continued booth-level campaigning across every mandal under the Assembly segments of the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, according to the party.I can also make this shorter in HS agency style if needed.------------
