Suryapet, 30 September (H.S.): At least 10 passengers were injured after a private travels bus travelling from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam lost control and overturned near Hussainabad in Mothey mandal of Telangana's Suryapet district in the early hours of Wednesday.

The bus, carrying around 36 to 38 passengers, reportedly veered off the road and overturned on the national highway. The injured were shifted to Suryapet Government Hospital for treatment.

Some of the passengers sustained serious injuries, including a woman who was reported to be in critical condition. Others suffered minor injuries.

The bus, operated by Maitri Travels and bearing registration number NL01 B 5579, was travelling towards Visakhapatnam when the accident occurred.

Police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Police suspect that the driver may have dozed off while driving, leading to the accident. Further details are awaited.
