Guwahati, 30 September (HS): A tree plantation programme was organised by ‘A’ Company Bhakatpara of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to promote environmental awareness among school-going girls.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Kh. Ibouchouba Singh, Second-in-Command and officiating Commandant of the 1st Battalion SSB, Sonapur, and under the supervision of Jayant Borah, Assistant Commandant and Company Commander of ‘A’ Company Bhakatpara.

During the programme, the Company In-charge apprised the participating schoolgirls of the importance of tree plantation, environmental protection and proper care of trees and plants. He highlighted the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality and protecting the environment.

The girls were also encouraged to plant more trees and ensure regular care and protection of the saplings. The programme aimed to strengthen awareness about environmental conservation and spread the message of planting more trees to protect the environment.-----------
