Hyderabad, 30 September (H.S.): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday congratulated archer Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav on winning the gold medal in the mixed compound archery event at the Asian Games in Japan and qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Reddy praised Chikitha for winning two gold medals in a single day and bringing recognition to Telangana at the international level. He said her achievement was a matter of pride for the state.

The Chief Minister congratulated Chikitha's parents and coaches for identifying her talent in Peddapalli and supporting her sporting journey.

Chikitha had earlier won gold in the women's compound team event before partnering Sahil Jadhav to defeat South Korea and secure the mixed team gold medal, according to the statement.

Reddy said Chikitha's success was the result of continuous practice, perseverance and determination. He said her achievement would inspire other athletes to pursue excellence in sports.

The Chief Minister said Chikitha's performance would have a lasting place in the sporting history of Telangana.
