New Delhi, 30 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday. He will address the gathering at 11 a.m. and release a commemorative coin and postage stamp marking the centenary of the Union Public Service Commission.

The Prime Minister will also release a book titled ‘100 Landmark Decisions That Shaped the Policies of the Union Public Service Commission and State Public Service Commissions in India’.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the event will mark the culmination of the UPSC’s year-long centenary celebrations. The Union Public Service Commission was established in 1926. A series of programmes were organised throughout the year to commemorate 100 years since its establishment. The celebrations began on October 1 last year.

The event will be attended by chairpersons and members of State Public Service Commissions from across the country, senior government officials, academics, UPSC officials and other stakeholders.

The UPSC is organising a two-day programme on September 30 and October 1. On the first day, ‘Centenary Celebrations – Manthan’ will be held at Bharat Mandapam, featuring addresses by eminent speakers followed by panel discussions on a range of subjects.
