Yavatmal, 30 Sept (HS): If the process of development is not complete unless

it reaches the last section of the society, said RSS Saransanghchalak DrMohan Bhagwat.

Pt Deendayal Upadhyay thought on these lines and coined the term ‘Antyoday’..

Dr Bhagwat was speaking during thethe birth anniversary programme of Pt

Deendayal Upadhyay at the Chintaman Market Committee premises in Yavatmanl.

Vidarbha Pradesh Sanghchalak Deepak Tamshettiwar,

Prabodhini President Narhari Dev, Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod, Tribal

Development Minister Ashok Uike, former MLA Madan Yerawar were present.

Dr Bhagwat said, Integral Humanism and Antyodaya are

not mere ideas but need to be inculcated in social life. Development is an

ongoing process but its benefits do not reach all equally. Therefore, the life

of the last person in the society should be considered while deciding the

direction of development. Dr Bhagwat explained that the philosophy of Antyodaya

propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya was based on this stance.

He asserted that the farmer not only cultivates fulfilling

his own needs, but also produces food for the welfare of society and the world.

The use of chemical fertilizers can increase yields, but it can also affects the

soil health and food grains grown. Hence, there is a need to promote organic,

mixed and livestock farming. A system to produce organic manure in the field

itself should be designed. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's birth anniversary needs

to be converted into a social mission, not limited to ceremonial functions.

Dr Bhagwat emphasised involvement of the society

instead of depending upon the government for development.
