Mathura, 30 Sept (HS): Rajesh Chaudhary, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

MLA from the Maant assembly constituency in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh

and the party's state general secretary, has received a death threat over the

phone from Pakistan. The caller, claiming to be associated with the

Lashkar-e-Taiba, threatened to kill him and his entire family. Based on the

MLA's complaint, the police have registered a report and launched an

investigation.

According to MLA Rajesh Chaudhary, he received the first WhatsApp call from

a Pakistani number on September 28th at around 10:38 pm. He then received

another call on Tuesday. The caller, identifying himself as a Pakistani

resident, said, You speak ill of Muslims, this is not right.

He threatened them, claiming he was associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and

would arrange for their release through his associates in India. The caller

threatened to blow up their entire family if they did not comply.

MLA Rajesh Chaudhary and Govardhan MLA Meghshyam Thakur met with Senior

Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar on Wednesday. They submitted a

written complaint about the entire matter. They stated in their application

that they had previously received similar calls from Pakistani numbers, but

they had initially ignored them. However, given the repeated threats, they

demanded increased security for themselves and their families and strict

action.

SSP Shlok Kumar said that a case

has been registered at the concerned police station based on the MLA's

complaint. The numbers are being investigated with the help of surveillance and

the cyber cell, and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the MLA's safety.
