New Delhi, 30 September (H.S.): Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, Minister of State B. L. Verma and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday participated in the ‘Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman’ camp organised under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026’ campaign.

The camp was organised by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at the Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium in New Delhi.

In a post on social media platform X, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said she participated in the ‘Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman’ camp at the Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign.

The camp provided health check-ups, access to welfare schemes of the Central and Delhi governments, and personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety kits for sanitation workers, sanitation volunteers and their families.

Gupta said sanitation workers help keep Delhi clean and beautiful every day through their hard work and spirit of service. She described their dedication as a vital pillar of a clean Delhi and expressed her gratitude for their tireless contribution.

“Their dignity, safety and welfare are the commitment of our government,” she said, while paying tribute to the sanitation workers and sanitation volunteers for their service.

Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi, Municipal Corporation of Delhi Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar and other officials were also present at the event.
