Remembering Uttam Kumar through a social media post, Nitin Nabin paid homage to his immense contribution to Indian cinema and his enduring acting legacy.

Nitin Nabin said Uttam Kumar’s unmatched charisma and ability to portray characters with remarkable depth gave Indian cinema a distinctive identity. He particularly highlighted Uttam Kumar’s contribution to taking the Bengali film industry to greater heights of recognition and glory.

The BJP president said that even decades after his passing, Uttam Kumar’s artistry and the emotional depth reflected in each of his characters continue to inspire generations of actors and cinema enthusiasts. He said Uttam Kumar’s timeless artistic legacy remains an important chapter in the history of Indian art and culture.

Nitin Nabin’s tribute came at a time when the country is commemorating the birth centenary of the legendary actor. Uttam Kumar was born on September 3, 1926, in Calcutta, now Kolkata. His birth name was Arun Kumar Chattopadhyay. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and popular actors in Indian cinema, particularly in Bengali films.
