Hyderabad, September 3 (H.S.): Several Telangana BJP leaders and activists, including State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao and MP D.K. Aruna, were detained by police on Thursday while staging a protest near the Telangana Secretariat demanding release of pending fee reimbursement dues.

The BJP leaders and activists reached the high-security Secretariat premises and raised slogans over the issue. Police subsequently took them into preventive custody and dispersed the protesters.

Speaking to reporters, Ramchander Rao and D.K. Aruna questioned the delay in clearing the fee reimbursement dues and alleged that the government’s approach was creating uncertainty among students.

They demanded that the State government take immediate steps to release the pending dues, stressing that delays could affect students and their educational prospects.

The BJP leaders maintained that the government should address the issue without further delay and ensure that students do not face difficulties because of pending reimbursements.

The protest was staged amid demands for clearance of fee reimbursement amounts due to educational institutions and students.
