Guwahati, 29 September (HS): A youth was killed in a road accident at Jalukbari in Guwahati early hours of Tuesday after a Swift Dzire allegedly hit him.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Kalita of Sipajhar. According to the available information, Kalita had got married around seven months ago.

His wife, who was reportedly accompanying him at the time of the accident, narrowly escaped with her life. The incident has caused shock among the victim’s family and local residents.

Police have taken up an investigation into the accident and further details are awaited.-----------
