Diphu (Assam), 29 September (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Tuesday led the Nasha Mukt Bharat Sankalp Padayatra in Diphu, with hundreds of students, NCC and NSS cadets, social organisations, officials and citizens joining the campaign against drug abuse.

Addressing the gathering at Diphu Town Hall, Acharya called for a sustained people’s movement involving families, educational institutions, community groups and youth to build a drug-free society. He linked the campaign with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and urged young people to focus on education, sports, skill development and nation-building.

The Governor later walked with participants from the Town Hall to the District Commissioner’s Office. At the conclusion, he paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, while District Commissioner Kriti Chachra administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge to the participants.------------
