(HS): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that although 265

talukas have been included in the list of drought-affected, more number of

farmers will be included in the list based on circle-based report of the

Cabinet Sub-Committee. The affected farmers will not be left in the lurch.

Fadnavis made

this announcement on Tuesday ion Mumbai. He said that the decision was taken by

the Cabinet in its meeting.

Some areas have

been included in the drought-affected list, based on average rainfall in the tehsil.

But the circle-level survey will resolve the farmers’ problems. Those included in

the list after the survey will also get all 12 benefits which are being

extended to the farmers in the first list, Fadnavis said.

Agniveer:

Fadnavis also announced that the Agniveers of the first batch, completing the

four-years training will be absorbed. As per rules 25 percent of them will be

absorbed in the armed forces and the remaining will be accommodated in the

Police Force and other security forces. They will not be required to appear for

any written or physical tests. They will also get age limit concession of four

years or undergo fresh training. Only those employed in Fire Brigade may

require a different training.
