Aichi-Nagoya, 28 September (H.S.): India’s Pincky Balhara won the bronze medal in the women’s -78kg Kurash event at the Asian Games 2026. In the semifinal held at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall on Monday, Pincky Balhara suffered a 0-5 defeat to South Korea’s Sumin Mo, bringing her campaign to an end with a bronze medal.

Pincky Balhara had earlier advanced to the semifinals after defeating South Korea’s Lim Garam 3-0 in the quarterfinals. She had received a bye in the round of 16.

This is Pincky Balhara’s second Asian Games medal. She had previously won the silver medal in the women’s -52kg category at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. In that final, Pincky Balhara was defeated by Uzbekistan’s Gulnor Sulaymanova.

Pincky Balhara had missed out on a medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2022. She was defeated by Uzbekistan’s Sitora Elmurodova in the quarterfinals.

With her bronze medal in Aichi-Nagoya, Pincky Balhara has added a second Asian Games medal to her tally, following her silver-medal performance in 2018.
