Mumbai, 28 September (H.S.): Salman Khan expressed strong displeasure over fake AI-generated and deepfake videos being created and circulated on social media during the latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of ‘Bigg Boss 20’.

The actor revealed that he himself has been a victim of such fabricated videos. He said people often share these videos on social media believing them to be genuine, while those who create them deliberately produce misleading content. Salman called for strict legal action against those responsible.

Expressing concern over the misuse of artificial intelligence technology, Salman said that imitating someone’s voice and using it in an objectionable manner is a serious matter. He questioned why action should not be taken against those who create and circulate such fake videos. The actor said strict measures should be taken against people who knowingly create and disseminate content despite being aware that it is fake. He also spoke in favour of sending those found guilty to prison in such cases.

The actor stressed the need for stringent regulations to curb fake and misleading content on social media. He said he would raise the issue seriously. He also pointed out that the impact of deepfakes is not limited to celebrities, as ordinary people and their families can also suffer harm from such content.

Following his remarks, fans on social media also voiced support for his concerns over the misuse of AI and deepfake technology.
