Hyderabad, 28 September (H.S.): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday congratulated Hyderabad shooter Esha Singh on winning the silver medal in the women's 25m pistol event at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Esha Singh secured the silver after a closely contested final, finishing with 38 hits, the same score as China's Xiao Jiaruixuan. The Chinese shooter won the gold after the shoot-off. Esha had entered the final after qualifying eighth with a score of 580-22x.

Revanth Reddy congratulated Esha for her performance and described the achievement as a proud moment for Telangana and the country.

The 21-year-old shooter fought through multiple shoot-offs during the final. She first battled her way into the medal positions and then faced Xiao in the contest for gold, eventually finishing second.

The silver adds to Esha Singh's Asian Games medal tally. At the Hangzhou Asian Games, she had won four medals, including gold and silver in the 25m pistol events and silver medals in the 10m air pistol events.
