Amaravati, 28 September (H.S.): The meteorological department on Monday forecast thunderstorms in parts of Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh for three days from September 28, with strong winds likely to accompany the rainfall.

According to an official release, thunderstorms and rain are expected at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam as well. Wind speeds may reach up to 50 kmph in Rayalaseema and at isolated places in Coastal Andhra and Yanam.

The department said an upper-air circulation was lying over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.

Lower tropospheric northwesterly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, the release said.
