Guwahati, 28 September (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has assured that a proper investigation will be conducted into the murder of Nimisha Thakuria.

Reacting to the incident, the Chief Minister said people need to learn how to keep themselves safe and stressed the importance of maintaining social values and discipline.

“We have to learn to keep ourselves safe. If we learn to conduct ourselves within our values and traditions, society will become better,” Sarma said.

He also urged parents to pay greater attention to the issue and guide their children appropriately.

The Chief Minister’s remarks came in response to the murder of Nimisha Thakuria, which has raised concerns over the safety of women and young people. He said the authorities would ensure that the circumstances surrounding the incident are properly investigated.------------
